Overview

Perform any combination of cleaning duties to maintain guest rooms, bathrooms and public areas in a clean and orderly manner according to the property’s standards and excellence to ensure guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • cleans guest rooms
  • makes beds
  • dust rooms
  • vacum carptes
  • checks and secure rooms
  • organize work schedule from the room status list, arrivals and departures
  • distribute linen, towels and room supplies using wheeled carts or by hand
  • restock room supplies such as, soaps, shampoos
  • replace dirty linens with clean items
  • inspect and turn mattresses regularly
  • store all dirty laundry in line with company policy
  • performs monthly deep cleaning projects as directed by supervisor
  • check all appliances in rooms are in working order
  • realign furniture and amenities according to prescribed layout
  • respond to guest queries and requests
  • respond to calls for housekeeping problems such as spills, broken glasses
  • deliver any requested housekeeping items to guest rooms
  • organize and restock cart at the end of the shift
  • ensure confidentiality and security of guest rooms
  • follow all company safety and security procedures
  • report any maintenance or supervisor issues or safety hazards
  • observe and report damage of hotel property
  • attend all staff meetings 
  • other duties as requested by your supervisor

Qualifications

Requirements: Minimum 21 years of age. Valid California driver’s license. Slip resistant shoes required.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred, housekeeping experience desired. Customer services experience a plus!

 

Language Skills

Ability to speak and comprehend English. Ability to communicate effectively over the radio with co-workers. Ability to read and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.  Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

 

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

 

 

 

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions.  Ability to deal with

standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Gaming license issued by the Paskenta Gaming Commission.  Valid California Driver’s License.  

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand.  The employee frequently is required to walk, use hands to fingers, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl.  The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, talk and/or hear.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move or lift up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and/or move or push up to 100 pounds with assistance.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet, warm, hot, and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, tobacco smoke, and vibration.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
