  • Overview

    Assists with the operations and maintenance of the water reclamation facility including: water wells, water treatment, water pumping and water distribution system.

    Responsibilities

    • Participates in routine activities including inspecting, monitoring, troubleshooting, and documenting plant processes by reading equipment gauges, dials, graphs, analyzers, meters, SCADA systems and other instrumentation.
    • Ensures that the equipment and systems are properly operated and maintained.
    • Ensures that facilities are clean and maintained in an as new condition.
    • Assists in operating and adjusting treatment plant pumps, motors, and other equipment to maintain appropriate plant operations.
    • Assists in installing, maintaining, repairing, modifying, troubleshooting and servicing machinery and equipment including pumps, valves, motors, meters, tanks, blowers, chlorinators, and lift stations.
    • Collection and documentation of liquid and solid samples.
    • Performs general facility maintenance such as cleaning, painting and repairing plant facilities.
    • Assists with the operation and maintenance of the domestic water treatment and distribution systems and wastewater treatment and collection system.
    • Performs job duties and operation of equipment with an emphasis on safety.
    • Assists in operating and maintaining water treatment facilities, including wells, storage, disinfection, and distribution.
    • Participates in the operation of the water reclamation systems, biosolids systems, pumps, instrumentation, and wastewater treatment equipment.
    • Safely handles chlorine, acid, and other hazardous chemicals.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum 21 years of age

     

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

     

    Education and/or Experience

    High school diploma or GED and any combination of experience and training that demonstrates the required knowledge and abilities as listed above. Experience with preventative and corrective maintenance procedures. Knowledgeable in safety procedures related to all work performed. Proficient in plan reading and able to interpret manufacturer’s literature and manuals as they pertain to the treatment systems.

     

    Language Skills

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, chemical data sheets, and procedure manuals. The candidate should be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from other employees and supervisors.

     

     

     

    Mathematical Skills

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. The candidate should have the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentage, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

     

    Reasoning Ability

    Should be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

     

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

    Gaming License issued by the Paskenta Gaming Commission. Valid CA driver’s license. Should have or attain within 12 months from date of hire a California State Water Resources Control Board or ITCA Water Treatment Operator Certification.

The employee must frequently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
