  • Overview

    Asisst the Bartender and Waitstaff server with daily job duties. 

    Responsibilities

     

    • Provides constant, attentive and friendly service to guests and employees.
    • Assists with opening and closing duties, such as restocking the bar with garnishes, straws, and napkins, ensuring that Bartenders have clean towels, glassware, etc.
    • Ensures bar is well-stocked with ice, liquor, wine and beer.
    • Assists cocktail servers in maintaining work stations with proper product and its cleanliness.
    • Checks taps and appliances to confirm that they are in working order and changing out kegs.
    • Keeps the bar clean by wiping down surfaces, sweeping and mopping, removing soiled glassware, scrubbing coolers and storage areas.
    • Learns bartending duties, drink menus and pricing.
    • Takes orders, prepares drinks, opens tabs and processes payments, under bartender training.
    • Attends and successfully passes the TIPs course, and maintains the guidelines in service.
    • Maintains records and report levels of usage to assist in reordering of product and ensures that delivered products are stored accordingly.
    • Upholds standards set by Alcohol Beverage Control Board of California.
    • Follows established policies and procedures set forth by Rolling Hills Casino and the Food & Beverage department.
    • Attends all trainings as required.
    • Other duties as assigned by Food & Beverage Management.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum 21 years of age
    • Slip resistant shoes

     

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    This job does not have supervisory responsibilities.

     

    Education and/or Experience

    High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Candidate must have at least 6 months previous customer service and  Point of Sale (POS) system experience.

     

    Must have previous experience with a

    Language Skills

    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests, clients, and other employees of the organization.

     

    Mathematical Skills

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

     

    Reasoning Ability

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral,

    or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

     

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

    Gaming license issued by the Paskenta Gaming Commission.  TipS certification as trained at Rolling Hills Casino.  Food handler’s card provided by Rolling Hills Casino.  Must obtain Title 31 certification as trained by Rolling Hills Casino.
