  • Overview

    Apply principles of Accounting to analyze financial information and to prepare data for financial reports. Will be responsible for functions pertaining to General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Month End Closing, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll in accordance with the established policies and procedures of Rolling Hills Casino.



    • Perform functions as assigned, which could include both recurring and non-recurring projects.
    • Compile and analyze financial information pertaining to the General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable or Payroll.
    • Generate general journal entries for the financial accounting area in an accurate and timely manner.
    • Prepare month end income and expense accrual entries, reconcile general ledger balance sheet accounts, calculate accrued interest on notes, and prepare schedules and charts reflecting financial data.
    • Input of vendor invoices, assist in check runs, verify appropriate signatures, packing lists, shipping records and purchase requests are included with purchase orders, reconcile vendor statements.
    • Assist Controller on a daily basis.
    • Act as a team member to the department and to each other, cooperating on projects and assignments.
    • Miscellaneous responsibilities could include, but are not limited to the following; filing, office supply orders, reconciliation of gift cards, transmission of daily credit card batches, payroll and PTO accruals, auditing of payroll reports and payroll account reconciliation.

    Supervisor Responsibilities

    Knowledge of financial applications within a Sage 100 system. Proficient in basic computer applications: Excel, Word and 10-key. Effective organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of general accounting practices. Ability to interpret financial statements. Ability to apply basic math and algebra skills. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information or respond to questions from managers, vendors, or customers. Must be detail oriented.



    Associates degree or equivalent from a 2-year college; or four years experience related in the above responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


    Language Skills

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.


    Mathematical Skills

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.


    Reasoning Ability

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret and apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.


    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

    Gaming license issued by the Paskenta Gaming Commission.


    Physical Demands

The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee must frequently lift up to 20 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job are close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.


    Work Environment

    The work environment characteristics described her are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of the job. The noise level in the work environment is usually quite to moderate. Work is performed in an office setting and requires a great amount of attention to detail; work assignments are multiple and are occasionally performed under time restraints; major portion of work is performed on a computer. The employee is occasionally exposed to tobacco smoke.
